The Spark
A New Way of Thinking
It all started when Rob, The CEO, came across a paper about the concept of Nature as a Stakeholder.
“It was the first time I’d encountered this idea and it really struck a chord. I knew I had to find out more.”
That curiosity led to a conversation, which soon evolved into a series of consultancy sessions with his senior leadership team. The goal? To explore how Santon Switchgear could not only do less harm, but actively give something back to the natural system we’re all part of.
The Collaboration
Structure, Clarity, and Passion
Reflecting on the process, Rob shared:
“We’ve been hugely satisfied. The sessions were well-prepared, clearly structured, and delivered with clarity and energy. Lizzy’s style, intelligence and passion are infectious.”
The focus wasn’t just on what’s going wrong with the planet, but more importantly, on what a company can do. Especially one that wants to lead with integrity and intention.
The Insight
SMEs Can—and Should—Make a Difference
One of the biggest takeaways for Rob and his team:
“That when combined, private sector SMEs can truly make a difference and in fact, have a responsibility to do so.”
This shift in perspective changed everything. From being aware to becoming actively engaged.
The Result
From Awareness to Action
The work together led to:
A solid understanding of the key drivers behind biodiversity loss and nature’s decline.
Practical strategies to counteract them within the business.
A clear, actionable roadmap to embed this thinking into Santon Switchgear’s long-term strategy.
“We now have a structure that helps us make sustainable choices in a meaningful way.”
